Early Childhood Education Advocacy
I was commissioned by a Wisconsin based Early Childhood Education group, WECAN Advocacy, to create an image that represented the advancement of the ECE field and workforce.

I had the unique opportunity to design an in-store iPad application from concept to implementation at American Girl’s flagship Chicago store. As the visual and user experience designer, I partnered with the retail team, product design department, and an in-house developer to deliver a robust and complex product.
I started with researching and testing existing products on the market like Barbie Fashion Design Maker. The average age of our target market was 6-8, so the interface needed to be intuitive and engaging for that demographic. Our approach for the interface was almost entirely icon/image based, the addition of text was used in a very limited and strategic manner.
In addition to the interface design, I art directed the photography and illustrated the “blank” garments.

In addition to client work, I try to stay connected to my roots in the dance and performing arts community. Here are a few samples of posters, social media images, and website/portfolio sites I designed for a few of my fellow dancers.
